Magnum Scaffolding (Contracts) Limited, are pleased to announce that they have been awarded a Contract to provide scaffolding to enable the construction of Phase 2 of the Multi Storey Car Park, being built at Bristol International Airport, by Goldbeck Construction Limited.
The project is an extension of an existing car park, built earlier in the year, from two storeys to four storeys. The car park remains in use for the public during construction works.
The contract includes the provision of scaffolding to the external elevations of the perimeter of six stair-cores. The scaffolding to be built totally free standing, providing unobstructed access for purpose of removing existing and installing new full height cladding.
There is also the requirement for Lift Shaft access scaffolding, Crash Decks and Birdcages within the project.
It was identified by the Principal Contractor that the external scaffolding is nonstandard and would need to be built to site specific design. Magnum were employed at an early stage, to work collaboratively with the Principal Contractor to develop the arrangement and design of the scaffolding.
Magnum considered the practical and sequential needs of the build and identified the scope of works needed, to fulfil the requirements of: –
Current statutory regulations and guidance
The provisions of the customers Temporary Works Policy
Customer Standard Operating Procedures,
Stringent timescales of the programme
This proved beneficial to the Principal Contractor, when communicating with the client on this sensitive project.
A robust design was completed, ready for inclusion within the scaffolding sub-contract and commencement of scaffolding operations on site.
