BIA STE Scaffold for Farrans Construction £30M Project
Bristol International Airport, South Terminal Extension.
Customer. Farrans Construction.
Magnum were employed by Farrans Construction to provide scaffolding services for the construction of the new South and West Terminal Extensions at Bristol International Airport.
Elements of the scaffolding work were carried out Airside, requiring Magnums scaffolders to be trained and security checked to enable them to obtain a Blue Pass. This pass enables them to work Airside and have access through locked staff doors.
Scaffolding work included Edge Protection, Pedestrian Bridges, Temporary Roof, Lay Downs, Shoring, free standing scaffolding, independent scaffolding, Stair Towers, Loading Towers and Birdcages.
All aspects of the scaffolding design was undertaken by Magnum on behalf of the Principal Contractor. Temporary Works details from the Design Brief to Working drawing were stored on a shared drive enabling customers to view progress or retrieve design information as needed.
Statutory Scaffolding Inspections were completed on behalf of the principal contractor.
Scaffolding documentation was managed within Magnum digital platform. Consequently stakeholders were digitally and contemporaneously updated with handovers, off hire certification and the outcomes of inspections.
