University Of Bristol Queens Building

Magnum has been appointed by M and J Construction and Roofing to provide scaffolding access solutions for their works at the University of Bristol, Queens Building, in central Bristol. M&J’s contract involves the replacement and repair of roofs and skylights.

Magnum has provided Stairs Towers, various Edge Protection solutions, access scaffolding, Birdcages and Hoists to facilitate the replacement of skylights and the repair works. The scaffolding work involved some complex design solutions including features such as gantries, bridges and walkways to service hoists.

Much of the work involved working in confined spaces with the associated challenges of distributing materials within a live built-up environment.
During the project Magnum delivered their new Hoarding system to enable the public to safely use the footpath whilst building work progressed adjacent to public areas
